Britches Great Outdoors Finds Its Home in Old Town Warrenton

Britches Great Outdoors Finds it's Home in Old Town Warrenton, VA

At Alls Real Estate, we believe a great community is built on strong local businesses and the people who run them. That's why we're launching a new blog series to highlight our neighbors and the unique stories that make Warrenton, VA such a special place to live.

Our first feature shines a spotlight on a true American classic: Britches Great Outdoors, now open at 20 Main Street in the heart of Old Town Warrenton.

For anyone 40 and over, the name "Britches" evokes a wave of nostalgia. In the 80s and 90s, the brand was a cornerstone of the preppy, professional look, with tailored suits and luxury accessories that defined the "yuppie" aesthetic. But Britches had a rebellious streak. While other brands sported polo players, Britches embraced the rugged and cool vibe of the "Warthog", an iconic emblem that became the anti-brand to everything polo stood for. Britches of Georgetown offered high-end suits, while its most-loved sibling, Britches Great Outdoors, focused on casual quality.

A Commitment to Community and Quality

When new owners Matt Carson and Steve Sutherland acquired the brand in recent years, they knew there was only one place to plant their flag. In an exclusive interview, Matt told us it was a "no-brainer" to stay loyal to Warrenton, VA and open their flagship store right here in our town.

Inch by inch, they are working hard to reintroduce this legendary brand. Their goal is to return to the original mission of creating quality clothes at great prices and they are committed to bringing more of their products to be made in the USA. By focusing on educating a new generation of consumers about the quality and heritage of Britches, they're bringing back the pieces that made the brand famous.

While many customers will remember the classic Rugby Shirt, the current top-selling products in the store also include the Hybrid Untuck Shirts, Polos, and flannels.

We at Alls Real Estate are thrilled to see a piece of American fashion history find its new home on our thriving Old Town Warrenton Main Street. Next time you're exploring downtown, stop by and say hello to the team at Britches Great Outdoors.

We're proud to have businesses like Britches helping to make our community a place we all love to call home.
